Terms of Service
Effective date: October 8, 2024
1. General Use of the Service
Service Description. TikaCam lets adults connect via private, peer-to-peer video and audio calls using WebRTC. Calls are end-to-end encrypted (E2EE). We do not monitor or record call content.
Eligibility. You must be at least 18 years old to use TikaCam.
No Registration. No account is required. By using TikaCam, you accept these Terms and are responsible for your conduct.
2. Prohibited Activities
By using TikaCam, you agree you will not:
- Engage in unlawful, harmful, or fraudulent activity, including:
- Distribution of illegal content (including child exploitation; non-consensual sexual content; or content that violates intellectual property).
- Planning, organizing, or participating in illegal acts.
- Harassment, bullying, threats, hate, or doxxing.
- Disrupt, damage, or interfere with the Service (e.g., malware, bots, scraping, or unauthorized access).
- Violate others’ privacy or attempt to intercept communications.
- Use TikaCam in violation of applicable laws, regulations, or court orders.
3. Content and Data Privacy
Encryption. Calls are peer-to-peer with end-to-end encryption. If media is relayed via TURN, it remains encrypted in transit.
No Access to Call Content. We do not monitor, access, or record the audio/video content of calls.
Moderation & Reporting. You can report misuse. We review report details and metadata, not call content. See our Privacy Policy for data practices.
4. Data Collection
Minimal data. We collect only what’s needed to operate and secure the Service (e.g., signaling/connection data, device info, operational logs, and your submitted reports). See Privacy for details and retention.
5. Disclaimers & Limitations
As-Is Service. TikaCam is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind.
No Monitoring. Because calls are E2EE P2P, we cannot view or record call content and are not responsible for what users share.
Limitation of Liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, TikaCam is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages; loss of data or profits; or damages to devices arising from use of the Service.
Indemnification. You agree to indemnify and hold TikaCam harmless from claims arising out of your misuse of the Service or violation of these Terms.
6. Intellectual Property
Ownership. The platform (design, software, features, logos, and other content) is owned by TikaCam and protected by applicable laws. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, or create derivative works without permission.
Limited License. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use TikaCam for personal, non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms.
User-Submitted Content. If you submit text or images to TikaCam (e.g., reports, optional avatars), you grant TikaCam a limited, revocable, worldwide license to use that content solely to operate, secure, and improve the Service. This does not apply to call audio/video, which we do not collect or store.
Copyright Complaints. To report alleged infringement, email [email protected] with: (i) the copyrighted work; (ii) the material you claim is infringing; (iii) your contact info; and (iv) a good-faith statement of unauthorized use and your authority to act.
7. Enforcement
We may issue warnings, limit features, or suspend/ban access for violations. For serious violations or credible threats, we may cooperate with authorities as required by law.
8. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms. We’ll post the updated date above and, if changes are material, provide a more prominent notice. Your continued use of TikaCam constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
